What does David Archuletas song crush mean?

Crush is about a guy (the singer) who has a crush on (attracted to) a girl he knows and he can't stop thinking about her, but he doesn't know if she feels the same way about him. Sometimes he thinks she does feel the same way (like in the beginning of the song when he hung up the phone after talking to her) and that's very exciting, but other times he isn't sure. Is she just shy or afraid to show the way he feels, the same way he is? Or does she not feel the same way? The song never resolves the question but the video for the song makes it look like the girl does feel the same way.
