How many battles were fought at bull run?

The battles of bull run is battle between the south and the north.

Located along the Virgana (Confederate) state border and near Maryland (Union) state.

Bull Run was where the first major battle of the Confederate army during American's Civil War, also known as First and second Manassas. At first many Northerners thought this battle would be won over the Southerners in no time and they treated it like watching a horse race or having a picnic, as many onlookers dressed up for the event, bring their carriages and women with their their parasols.

The Northerners had greatly underestimated the South's strength and were astonished when the Confederate forces went against even the onlookers, causing them all to retreat and run from this First Manassas Battle. Destroying the widespread belief in the North that the war would be over quickly.

The Second Manassas Battle was on a much larger scale than the First Manassas Battle. The Union lost about 10,000 killed and wounded out of 62,00 and Confederate lost about 1,300 killed and 7,00 wounded out of 50,000. Confederate Gen Stonewall Jackson's army captured the Union supply depot at Manassas Junction, which threatened communications to Washington D.C. by use of railway.

Even though the Confederates won these two battles, Manassas stayed with Union.
