Francis R. Lubbock (born October 16, 1815 in Beaufort, South Carolina; died June 22, 1905 in Austin, Texas) succeeded Edward Clark as the ninth Governor of Texas, serving between November 7, 1861 and November 5, 1863. Following the end of Lubbock's term as Governor, Pendleton Murrah (born c. 1826 in Alabama; died August 4, 1865 in Monterrey, Mexico) became the tenth Governor of Texas, serving between November 5, 1863 and June 17, 1865.
