Lance Armstrong's cancer was diagnosed by Dr. Craig Nichols, a physician at the Indiana University Medical Center. Armstrong initially went to see the doctor due to persistent symptoms, which led to further testing and the eventual diagnosis of testicular cancer in 1996. The cancer had already spread to his abdomen and lungs by the time it was detected.
