Ask your teen what colors she likes and what colors fit her and will fit her for the next year. Make sure that u also ask her to pick a theme, (optional) picking a theme can make your search for decorations and paint easier! When creating a room for a teenager, you want to also have the basics, a bed and dresser, But when just having basics, your teen may find it hard to live in the room. Something helpful would be to give her a study area, a seating section (for when her friends come over), a night stand and a couple of shelves to display her acheivments! If the room is small, you should focuse on highth. For example, you might want to stack storage cubes ontop of each other for storage. If your room is rather larger, you want to focuse on how big ur room is. Once you have the furnature, you also need things for the wall. A good idea is to paint before you get the furnature, so you won't have to worry about moving it. If the room is smaller, you want to go with a light color (light purples, light blues, light pinks). If the room is larger, you may get away with using darker colors (bright red, browns, hot pink, blues, purples). When you are shopping for furnature, try and find things that are functional. For example, you may want to get a bed with drawers underneath. Once you get your furnature, position it where you think your teen will be able to move around the most.
