What do you say to someone when they insult your wife?

Politely ask them to apologize if she's within earshot, and ask them to not do it again. If they do it again, you can do one of three things, 1) Ask them not to do it again, 2) Ignore it and don't speak to them again, 3) Get violent, not that I approve of violence, but it's still an option nonetheless...
