Who was the Governor of Iowa in 1873?

Cyrus C. Carpenter (born November 24, 1829 in Harford, Pennsylvania; died May 29, 1898 in Fort Dodge, Iowa) succeeded Samuel Merrill as the eighth Governor of Iowa, serving between January 11, 1872 and January 13, 1876, including the whole of 1873.
