Who created gymnastics?

Gymnastics as a formalized sport has its roots in ancient Greece, where it was part of the training for soldiers and athletes. However, the modern form of gymnastics was developed in the early 19th century by Friedrich Ludwig Jahn, a German educator, who is often referred to as the "father of gymnastics."
