Red devil lye is used in what type of voodoo rituals?

Red Devil is a paint manufacturer in the Essex county ( Midlands) where there is or was much industry. ( Newark had a paint plant also- Cook & Dunn). I am aware of various Red Devil products but not of any application to Voodoo. It should be noted Carbon tetrachloride- a paint thinner and a somewhat hazardous substance has been used as an inhaled intoxicant- and Red Devil may have marketed this substance- by Hippies and others as it circumvented drug laws. Hence- a Carbide high, a Carbon Tet jag.
