Saltwater definitely helps with various skin problems, as it helps to regulate the skin ( both moisturizing and drying out blemishes) Make sure that you are using dead sea salt, or Himalayan rock salt for best results. Some say that saltwater dries out your skin, which it definitely does, but it also does not disturb the skin's natural barrier. If you are suffering from acne, among other abrasions I would recommend boiling some hot water and adding a small portion of salt to the water ( say 500 mL of water and 10 mL of salt). Simply splash the mixture onto your face, you can either rinse it off, but I often choose to leave it on overnight. When you wake up in the morning you will definitely be amazed at the results. You may feel a slight burning sensation when you splash the saltwater onto you face, but this is normal.

Of course, if you have the luxury of living near a salt water ocean like the Pacific, just feel free to use that water, making sure of course you are not in a polluted area.

I was having some major skin problems, after having perfect skin for my first 22 years, I had no idea what was going on. I had recently moved to a new country and was dealing with a lot of change in my life-so skin problems can be common in those scenariOS. I tried all kinds of products, things from the health store ( like witch hazel oil), expensive Vichy face wash...you name it. Saltwater was the only thing that truly helped, and now that my skin is back to normal I still use it as a once a week treatment.

Also, if you like you can bathe your entire body in a sea salt bath and you will feel the results in many other ways. Your skin will be moisturized, and balanced, you increase your circulation, relieve muscle tension as well as a fair number of other aches and pains.
