What year is McDonald's founded?

The original McDonald's was not like today's fast food giant. It began in 1940 (although some sources say its first incarnation was as early as 1937), in San Bernardino, California, when Dick and Maurice "Mac" McDonald opened a drive-in Bar-B-Que restaurant, where people could eat in their car (this was called a "car-hop").
