Was there a fourth king instead of three wise men?

The Bible never explicitly names the kings, nor lists their number. It only states that there were 3 gifts - gold, frankincense and Myrrh.

Church traditions, which vary from denomination to denomination, give names and places of origin of the 3 Magi.

There could have been any number of Magi, two or greater, since it is plural.
