How far is Los Angeles from the Pacific Ocean?

Los Angeles is literally on the coast, so no distance at all. Obviously there are places in Los Angeles that are not actually touching the ocean, but looking at a map it appears that the furthest it's possible to be from the ocean and still be within LA city limits is a region in the northeastern corner of the city that is roughly 25-30 miles from the ocean. Downtown LA is about ten miles from the coast.
