Why is the blue jays wear number 42?

The number 42 was worn by Jackie Robinson and is retired throughout Major League Baseball. Only older players, such as Mariano Rivera on the Yankees still wear the number 42 since they wore it before it was retired.

This year however for some reason all blue jays are wearing the number 42... I would like to know why :S
