Tenzing Norgay was from Nepal. He was a Sherpa mountaineer renowned for being one of the first two individuals to reach the summit of Mount Everest on May 29, 1953, alongside Sir Edmund Hillary. Norgay's legacy is celebrated in both Nepal and the broader mountaineering community.
