Refrigerate the pasta in a bowl or dish, surrounded and covered by enough paper towels to blot and absorb the excess moisture. Then transfer the pasta into a freezer-safe container (or resealable plastic freezer bags) and place in the freezer, removing as much of the air as you can.

Remember that safe food handling procedures dictate that you get the pasta through the bacterial danger zone (41°-104° F, 5°-40° C) as quickly as possible, which is why it's recommended you don't cool the pasta on your kitchen counter for any length of time.
