What is the difference between LCD and EVF?

LCD = Liquid Crystal Display: this is a name for several technologies for creating an image on a flat screen.

EVF = Electronic View Finder: this is the name for a part of a camera at which you look that displays the image that will be taken (or is being recorded). The EVF makes no claims about HOWthe image is formed LCD, TFT, OLED or whatever.
