Factors to consider in choosing a teaching method?

A teacher should consider: * the needs of the students - not just educational, but emotional needs, e.g. a child who suffers beatings at home is not going to benefit from an authoritarian teacher as much as from one who takes the time to understand what's going on at home * the age, gender and individual skills of the students * the teacher's own personality type * the resources available at the school * the "backup" and support available at the school
