What was the roles of the men of the Iroquois?

The eastern woodland tribes were largely matrilineal. Possessions, homes and children belonged to the women. Depending upon the tribe, each clan may have had a clan mother, usually the eldest who dictated certain policies within the clan. Some also had the power to influence elections. Also they were of a minority had used women as healers in addition to their medicine people.
