What types of jobs are there in a football club?

The answer to this question depends on what level the player played at and how successful his career was. Assuming we are only talking about NFL players, realize that a backup quarterback who ends his career after two years will have far different options than a star like Tom Brady. Such lesser known players may take coaching positions or become newscasters, or they may simply move back into the general working population.

However, all players with full careers make enough money that, with careful planning, they can retire comfortably and never have to worry about working again. Still, many players do not simply disappear into obscurity. But, while football players are almost always college graduates, they do not generally use their degrees to embark on a new working-class career. Some start their own business ventures or invest in existing ones. Others sign lucrative endorsement deals. Or they may continue in sports in a coaching role. It is also common for more famous and charismatic players to become sports commentators. Some may even try their hand at politics.
