How do you unlock the cannon in Super Mario 64 DS?

go to the small castle level on world 1 and enter the door that DOES NOT lead to the boss room. On the right side of the place you enter will have a small opening. Go in there, and jump on the red flag. The warp cannon will unlock and all toad houses will pop back up. You will go to world mushroom.
