Does Dr Mallard die NCIS

David McCallam signed on for another two years to work on NCIS, however, he might come back as a ghost, (some dead people on NCIS do come back as ghosts). We don't know if Dr. Mallard is dead, we just have to wait for the new season to start again to answer the question. Nobody knows for certain what happened to anybody on the show at the end of the season cliff hanger. Just wait and see to find out.
