What is the best birthday gift to give your male best friend?

Don't try and buy him anything you like, i.e. aftershave, clothes or jeweler. Guys like things they can play with, not just toys, but box sets of CD's, DVD's or books if they are readers - things they can interact with - but don't get them power tools - that would be like getting us girls an iron or a set of pots.

Guys can be nostalgic for their youth - not in a flowery way - but in things they liked watching on TV (i.e. James Bond films). Keep a sense of humour and look at posssible presents though his eyes - speak to sisters but not his mother for help. Get him interested in looking at sites such as Amazon with you and see what takes his interest.
