What is also referred to as ground tissue?

Ground tissue in plants refers to the tissue that makes up much of the plant body, primarily responsible for various functions such as photosynthesis, storage, and support. It includes three main types: parenchyma, collenchyma, and sclerenchyma. Ground tissue is distinct from vascular tissue (which transports water and nutrients) and dermal tissue (which protects the plant).
