How do chipmunks build their homes?

In and under trees, under sidewalks and stone places, in the ground. They make tunnels to store food, burrow, mate ( separate female burrows), and hibernate. They make there homes out of litter, dried up leaves, weeds, stones, toilet paper roles, shredded clothes, paper and paper tissues.
