Are you more likely to get pregnant before or after ovulation?

It is more likely you get pregnant by having sex before ovulation as sperm can take anything from 20 minutes to a day or so to travel to fallopian tubes to meet the egg. If they arrive before egg is released they will wait there dormant until it is time. Sperm can last days in the uterus where as the egg can only survive on average 24 hours without being fertilised. So if u have sex on or after ovulation day the egg could have expired before sperm gets there. The 5 days before ovulation are the best days to try to concieve.
