What are the history for magic wands?

The Scepter was the Royal staff, a hand-held symbol of authority of the Royal house. Anastasia has one in the cartoon film. There are and were also of various sizes, such things as Batons ( marshal"s batons in Germany, like Goerings) and maces and these were not weapons but status symbols of various ranks. With the exception of some Academic Batons and maces, they are largely obsolete in Civil life. The more portative Magician"s wand, usually wood or plastic, is an exception. Odd fact- SEPTA is an acronym for South East Philadelphia Transit Authority... Both Scepter and Wand records were located in The City of Brotherly Love! Both had connections to Phillip Spector.
