Who invented the first alcoholic drink?

Alcohol is a natural product of the action of yeast on sugars. It was no doubt discovered by a hunter-gatherer many thousands of years before writing was developed, almost certainly from eating -- or seeing animals eat -- fermented fruit. We have no record of the exact circumstances.
