What does it mean when your husband abandons his family and leaves?

Like women, men are motivated either by some external force or by an internal force. That is, he is reacting strongly and has left because of something that has gone wrong in the relationship or he has left because something that has gone awry internally with himself. In both cases, it sounds like the man has some strong personal problems. Using the term abandon is very strong language. Leaving both the children and wife suggests that regardless of what is going on, thi s man has some serious personal challenges upon which he needs to focus. The bottom line is that the man is clearly dealing with significant personal pain. And even if it is not apparent, he will eventually run head-on to the real reason for his running.
