Christianity’s assertion that life begins at conception. If many eggs are fertilized, then some embryos will usually be frozen. They can remain frozen and be used later if the implantation is unsuccessful or if the couple chooses to have more children later. If it is successful or the couple decides not to have any more children, the “excess” embryos are not needed. Then what happens? They could be discarded, transferred to another couple in an adoption-like arrangement, left frozen indefinitely or used in research (which would result in their destruction).
