What does short-eyes mean?

"Short-eyes" is a derogatory slang term for a pedophile. It can also be a reference to hardcore reading material. The term apparently comes from the reading habits of prison inmates. If they are viewing something they do not want others to see or content which could get them in severe trouble, they hold it close to their face as if they were suffering nearsightedness.
