What did eating the fruit give to Adam and Eve?

It gave them eventual death, which is exactly what Jehovah God said would happen. (Genesis 2:17; 3:3) It also left them imperfect and sinful, & it was then that they decided to have children, which is why everyone after them is sinful as well. (Romans 5:12 & 14)

However, Jesus giving his life as a sacrifice enabled mankind to have a chance at living eternally, if they exercised faith in that sacrifice. (John 3:16; Romans 5:18)
