Is Prose is the ordinary form of written language?

The structure of prose writing is that it has the flow of natural speech. It does not have a rhythmic pattern to its structure like what is found in most poetry or song lyrics. It is basically a straight-forward way of writing. Examples of where prose writing can be found in writing includes novels, short stories and news articles.
