How safe are wooden garage doors?

As mentioned, wooden garage doors are as safe as any modern automatic system, since the safety depends mostly on the safety mechanisms included in every unit (safety sensors and reverse mechanism).
Safety isn’t the issue, but when it comes to durability wood is very, very high maintenance, at least in comparison to its aluminum and steel counterparts.
