Did Fang die in Harry Potter?

Fang is Hagrid's dog. He makes his first appearance in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone when they go out into the Forbidden Forest to search for a unicorn. It is also said that he looks menacing with sharp teeth but he is actually really friendly
