During the discovery of microwave is it accidental or deliberate?

The discovery of microwaves was largely accidental. In 1945, engineer Percy Spencer noticed that a candy bar in his pocket melted while he was working on radar technology using magnetrons. This led him to experiment with microwaves for cooking, ultimately resulting in the development of the microwave oven. While the technology itself was deliberate, its application for cooking emerged from an unexpected observation.
