Most vets recommend a product called "Pill-Pockets" from pet stores. These are kind of expensive but worth it for short courses of treatment for dogs (not cats). They are double-sided ends of food-based empty pockets in which the med is placed, and then the pocket halves are pressed together to give the dog.
How about liquid forms of medicine like ivermectin ?
