There are hundreds of stem changing verbs in Spanish. But some of them are:
- pensar (to think)
- pedir (to ask for)
- servir (to serve)
- querer (to want)
- advertir (to warn)
- ascender (to go up)
- atravesar (to go through, to cross)
- cerrar (to close)
- comenzar (to begin, to start)
- mentir (to lie)
- perder (to lose)
- entender (to understand)
- preferir (to prefer).
Again these are just a tiny little fraction, but they are very useful.
