Why is a sharks topside gray and its underside white?

As a part of adaptation for the means of survival. It is basically camouflage. From the bottom it is difficult to see because it blends in with the light penetrated water above and from the top it blends in with the dark water below. Excellent for hunting and avoiding being hunted.
