What causes a wooshing sound in your ears when you swallow?

There are small tubes in the ears that connect to the trachea (windpipe). When these tubes become blocked or obstructed due to excess ear wax, or from a sinus infection, they can make funny noises when swallowing.

It should clear up on it's own after a few days.
