Garage door motor runs but gear or sprocket is not turning?

There's a little piece of steel (called a key) that locks the gear or sprocket to the motor shaft. My guess would be that this key has sheared off and needs to be replaced. Not a hard job. But you should have some tools and mechanical ability before you attempt it.
