Two things are most important: (1) Protect it from moisture, and (2) Use only cleaners approved for laminate floors.
(1) The body of laminate is made of a wood resin type material (basically, sawdust), so it absorbs water thirstily. Water will swell the flooring when it gets through the seams and around edges, ruining it forever. An accidental spill is usually not a problem, as long as you clean it up within a few minutes or an hour. But a puddle that sits on your floor overnight can destroy it.
(2) Cleaners containing oil-based products will leave an oil film on your floor, causing streaks. Harsh cleaners can damage the surface and also streak. Best are cleaners made for laminates. MIST it onto the floor, or the head of a damp sponge mop or swiffer-type mop. Never wet-mop or pour water on the floor! It's also safe to use window cleaners containing alcohol, because they dry quickly and leave no film to cause streaks. Then wipe clean. Nothing more to it than that.
