In Amy Tan 'Two Kinds what is figurative language?

there's a lot of imagery and similes like:

"her fingers felt like a dead person."

" I just played some nonsense that sounded like a cat running up and down garbage cans,"

" I made high pitched noises like a crazed animal"

hyperbole:

" I felt as though i had been sent to hell"

personification

"And even if i could, i wouldn't go on tv if you paid me a milion dollars!."( pg 3)

this story sucks.(i know)
