When rebuilding Toyota pickup 22 RE engine if wrist pins and rings around the piston are in good condition do they still need to be replaced?

Rings always need replacing during an overhaul. Why go to all the trouble without replacing the wrist pins? I would replace all parts that wear. Otherwise you are not doing a complete overhaul.
