Where is the starter located on a Chevy 5.7L?

the starter is located on the front of the engine bottom side. it is tricky to remove & install I have just recently replaced mine and some of the ac lines & hoses get in the way. GOOD LUCK!! Actually it depends upon the year. What year is your Monte? My '88 Monte has it underneath the rear of the engine, not the front. Good luck.
