How do you check if a website is legal?

Really, it's not so much about the website being legal as it is your actions on it. Basically, if you break copyright laws, you're doing illegal actions. For example, if you get music, to keep (in non-DRM'd, unencrypted savable format (.mp3)), you're most likely breaking copyright law.
