How do you change a driver's side front axle on a 1988 Toyota Camry LE 4 cylinder automatic?

1) Raise the front of the vehicle and support it safely. 2) Remove the front wheels 3) Remove the cotter pin and locknut cap 4) Have an assistant depress the barke pedal and losenn the bearing lock nut.5) Remove the engine under cover 6) Disconnect the tie rod end from the steering knuckle- may borrow tools from Murrays, Autozone ect. 7) Place matchmarks on the driveshaft housing and transaxle housing with paint or crayon.8) LOosen the 6 hex head bolts from the driveshaft. 9) Separate all the lower suspension components from the end o fthe driveshaft. 10) Pull and maneuver the drveshaft out. You will hae to remove the bearing lock blot and snapring prior to removal.

To install: Install a new snapring on the end of the shaft, coat gear oil to the side gear shaft and differental case sliding surface. Use a Bras bar and hammer , tap in the driveshaft until it makes contact with the pinion shaft. Hand tighten the 6 hex driveshaft bolts. Reverse the remaining removal procedures to comple installlation. Tightening fastensers to specifications. Fill the transaxcle with gear oil, install the fender apron, check front end alightment and test drive.
