What is Chemical poisoning?

Chemical poisoning, typically systemic in meaning, is the injestion in any manner of a chemical or compound that, in the apparent dosage, is toxic for the subject. This includes even chemicals that, in other dosages, may be beneficial or even necessary for life (e.g. selenium).
