Only under Strict Veterinary SupervisionOur users share their opinions:
- Never give your animals any prescription medications or otherwise without qualified professional supervision.
- I would advise caution when giving a dog Tramadol for the first time. My 13-year-old greyhound developed ventricular arrrhythmia (140/min with occasional sinus rhythm), which lasted nearly 24 hours after administration. It was as if the dog, which became disorientated, had been on a very bad "trip." As far as I can discover the literature does not describe this in dogs, but it does mention tachycardia as a potential side-effect of Tramadol in humans. Therefore, administer the drug only under strict veterinary supervision.
