How do you sell a us car to a Canadian?

Selling a vehicle to a Canadian is fairly straight forward:

a) Sign your title where indicated but keep the "Release of Liability" section.

b) Mail that Liability form to your DMV so they know the car has left the country and won't charge you for future DMV fees.

c) Give the buyer a bill of sale. Good samples are available free at the DMV.

d) Your buyer takes the title and bill of sale to their Ministry of Transport to register the vehicle and pay their taxes.
